Boy, if you weren't just getting loony waiting for the big Upper Valley party at La Viña Winery. Well, your wait is over. This month mark your calendar for the annual La Viña Blues and Jazz Festival. April 25 & 26. Oh, Boy!!!!

There is nothing quite like the La Viña festivals and this one is the one that puts the winter gloom and the spring winds behind... and summer fun is here.

The weather has been just perfect the last year without the rains or wind of past years. Owner Denise Stark doesn't consult her farmers almanac but, she plans ahead and picks a great weekend that doesn't have a whole lot going on elsewhere so the whole region will be making a bee line for the festival.

So everyone has two full days of the best weather and great music and wonderful people to make the scene and show up at the biggest musical event of the season in the Upper Valley.

You will see regulars that show up at every wine festival as well as those who have never made it to the fest. Those are always so excited to be at the festival and they will usually come back at least on one of the two festivals each year.

This year, the music is going to be "fabuloso". Frank Zona and Urban Edge has just released an album and it is great. It is a live album recorded at Dominic's in El Paso and Frank will be playing several of the cuts from the album at this year's festival. This is one locally prodluced CD you won't want to miss... what a great souvenir.

Also, a Canadian singer, Theresa Malenfant will make the trip to the southern border and backed up by Upper Valley home boy, Pat "Guitar Slim" Chase and local musician; will wow the crowd with her great blues.

Kat Crosby Blues Band is always a great hit at the La Viña festivals and they will be back this year. There will be plenty of different sounds and groups to keep the party going strong.

There will be mountain climbing for the kids and those couragous adults... or they can get their face painted and be a walking work of art. There will be arts and crafts and fine art paintings and great food and gifts and the atmosphere is the best in the whole West Texas & Southern New Mexican area. Bar none.

So if you want to experience the finest that our Upper Valley has to offer... then you will be at La Viña Blues and Jazz Festival April 25t & 26th.
