S ummer time usually starts with Memorial Day but, as long as you have the La Viña's Blues and Jazz Festival getting a late start this year; summer fun got an early start.

You could say that the late start had the fans beating down the down... and you'd be right. Huge crowds flooded the yard and made the wine and margaritas flow. Oh, and don't forget the turkey legs and tacos and BBQ sandwiches... and that's just the the H'orderve.

The music was at its best with plenty of great blues, jazz and salsa/jazz/blues mixes. As we mentioned in our pre-festival article, Frank Zona and the Urban Edge had a brand new CD to promote and many of the tracks on that new production were heard live for the first time since it was recorded "Live".
Even a kiss is better at the festival.
