t would be nice if we all took Memorial Day more seriously. But, there is a verse in the Bible that was made famous by The Byrds, a folk-rock band in the 70's by their song: To every Season.
To everything... Turn, Turn, Turn...
There is a Season... Turn, Turn, Turn...
... A Time to Live, A Time to Die...
And it is time when so many give thanks to those who have given their lives by celebrating life. But, for the Gallegos family, Memorial Day is a day to celebratet he bravery and honor of thier fallen family members.
They do this by rallying the troops from all over the country to come to Canutillo and the Gallegos Memorial Park to spend time with their family as they share their devotion for their brave and fallen. They also give thanks for all those that had fallen before their family and those who have fallen after.
The Gallegos will be celebrating their 31st annual Memorial Day celebration and worship. The park is named in honor of two members of the Gallegos family that died serving their country. In 1961, Jose Gallegos Jr. died in battle in Korea and a short three years later, his brother Manuel Gallegos died near Okinawa.

Then it's time for plenty of good eating as the grills are busy keeping the dozens of young family members playing in the park with a hamburger, hotdog, gordita or chicken drumstick on their plate . There is also a very heated and hilarious family grudge valleyball match that takes place under a large cottonwood tree.

Amid the cheers, yelps and screams of picnic fun the Gallegos display with honor.
