T
he Canutillo Eagles took their share of honors this year as District 2-4A Co-Champions and won the Bi-District Championship after sweeping their bi-district playoff series against Andress last week two games to none, 8-3 and 13-2.
But, the soaring sensation was abruptly halted when the Eagles played a best of three series against Canyon Randall High School, at Ratliff Stadium in Odessa, on Friday, May 15th, and Saturday, May 16th.
The Canutillo High School varsity girl's softball team headed to Odessa with hopes of moving on in the area regional playoffs but Canyon Randall sweep the Eagles 13-3 (6-innnings) and 8-1 in the Saturday game.
The Lady Eagles team was confident and focused on what they needed to do in order to win the area round of the state playoff according to
Coach Henry Carrillo. But, it is clear that Canyon Randall was just too much for the Eagle pitching outscoring the Eagles 21-4.
Thanks for the fine effort Eagles and Congratulations on a tremendous season.
