Fresh, healthy produce is still one of the main reasons people flock to the farmer's markets in the valley.

N ot doing anything Saturday mornings? Need a good reason not to do errands early on Saturday? Then the Farmer's Market at Ardovino's Desert Crossing is just perfect for a wonderful refuge from the cruel drudgery of home. ADC's Farmer's Market is in its 13th year.

What a vast array of things for the home and kitchen... all in one location. And these are not items that you can buy elsewhere. You can find plenty of great deals on fresh produce... if you get there early. Well, even if you don't, there are some vegetables that are plentiful and are still available all the way until 12:00 PM.

When you think of Farmer’s Market you think of great home grown produce, some home made jams and jellies and maybe a pie or cake through in for good measure. However, the event has turned into a jamboree of different custom made items and books that will sweeten the taste of nearly everyone. We found some great ceramic, textile and decorative items that would make a great gift.
Late in the season you can get the jump on a beautiful chile ristra to decorate your home's front door or your kitchen.

The produce is great and many feel that it is important to get value for their money. Adrianna Sanchez and her niece Jessica Mendez shop at the Farmer’s Market. “We like to shop here because the produce is better for the family and they accept WIC cards too” says Adrianna.

This season’s nearing it s end... there will be a couple of more gatherings this year.

To get there: Go I-10 to Sunland Park Drive and head to the river. Go straight down Sunland Park to the light and cross the railroad tracks at the Doniphan intersection. Continue over Sunland Park and around the race track and cross the river. At the light in Sunland Park, NM you will see the sings... go straight and follow the signs.
