Canutillo Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved Jim Fry as the new principal of Canutillo High School (CHS) during the special board meeting. Fry, who has been assistant principal at CHS for the past two years, will now lead the school of nearly 1,600 students and over 150 faculty and staff members. His appointment becomes effective immediately.
Fry has eleven years of experience in the education field. Prior to his arrival at CHS, he served as assistant principal for five years at John R. Rogers High School, in Spokane, Washington. He earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in elementary education and English at the secondary level and a Master of Arts degree in Education Administration from Washington State University.
“I’m honored to serve the Canutillo community in this very exciting time of growth. We will continue to build on the outstanding work that has already begun, and we will ensure that every student is given the opportunity to succeed,” Fry said. “I look forward with great enthusiasm to working with parents, students, and staff to make Canutillo High School a model for all schools in Texas,” he added.
