Evangelina G. Martinez, Bilingual Kindergarten Teacher at Deanna Davenport Elementary School in the Canutillo Independent School District, has been recognized as a VIP Member by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of bilingual education.

With an impressive background of more than 43 years of professional experience, Martinez specializes in teaching reading and writing in both Spanish and English. At her current post, she is charged with teaching English as a second language to kindergarten students. She has also trained district professionals and teachers. A recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award from the Gadsden Independent School District and the Canutillo Independent School District, Mart nez attributes her success to the support she receives from her family and mentors.

Martinez received her Master's Degree from New Mexico State University in 1983 and her Bachelor of Arts from Western New Mexico University. Recently, she was certified in gifted and talented education. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and the Rio Grande Women's Education Association.
