Rocky Mountain Coolness 2008 - Upper Valley So Cool.

Temperatures rise - Durango stays cool.

The inclusion in the Rocky Mountains made the El Paso area get the jump on some early fall weather. The temperatures didn't make it out of the 70's for a couple of days. The dip in the thermometer took place after the 14th of September and lasted for several days. This after the heavy rains and daily cloudiness the week before.

The impact of the cold front was that the temeratures didn't get out of the 60's in the state of Durango in northern Mexico.

The Rocky Mountains continue to send our region occasional respites from the heat. This year the weather was much more prone to swings in temperatures due to the abundant rain and heavy monsoonal precipitation. Hurricane Bonnie, Gus, Ike and Lowell all had an impact on our area weather.
