The Canutillo High School may have moved out of the valley and up toward the Franklin Mountains, but they haven't forgotten their roots. This annual tradition of a homecoming bonfire and pep rally is still one of the greatest sporting events for miles around. In the rural culture all around the country, bonfires have been as common as hayrides.
With plenty of accumulated wooden pallets stacked in a large open field the excitement in the air is so thick that the only way to release the tension is to set the wood ablaze.
The effect of this night will live on for many of these students as they enjoy the pagentry of homecoming and especially the bonfire ceremony.

The great CHS band plays and the cheerleaders put on plenty of different cheers and dances. There are ceremonies honoring the Amerian Flag and this little piece of Americana is cherished by all.
Canutillo Varsity Cheerleader Mariah Reimer was pretty excited with the whole evening and her brother Mathew and Mom Shirley have many memories from this night to hold dear for years to come.
