After a tough 2006 season (2-4 in district) the Anthony Wildcats posted a respectable 7-4 last year. This year things did not go that well. Anthony was 1-8 before the game. Anthony, as one of the smallest schools in Texas 3A schools were near the bottom of the district. Their tough season did not garner any sympathy from the visiting Pecos Eagles.
Friday night was no exeception. The Pecos Eagles came into Wildcat Stadium on a beautiful cool... finally, West Texas night and to boot... it was Halloween Night. The Eagles showed that they were not afraid of any black cats... or even the Wildcats taking this much coveted win 47-14.

Just one look at the photographs and it is clear that the Wildcats have plenty of talent but putting it together as a team has been a matter of inches. In the case of the receiver (above); the Wildcat could not hold on to the ball after completing the second part of the "What goes up... Must go down" axiom.
The Eagles were in command of this game from the start. At half time the score was 28-14 in favor of the Eagles after the Eagles used their two-minute drill to score right before half.
Although the Wildcats were not in the playoff race... the Eagles were very m
uch in the race to obtain one of the playoff spots in 4-3A
