Red Elvises make the Mecca Lounge ROK!

Leave it to Robert Ardovino, owner of Ardovino's Desert Crossing just outside of Anapara, New Mexico, to have a bash at his place. And no only that but to have one of the wildest acts to perform. To say that the Upper Valley was overrun by the Red Elvises would be an understatement. But, that is exactly what took place when they performed in the cozy confines of the Mecca Lounge and declared war in front of an enthusiastic crowd and they certainly... didn't take any prisoners.

Humor and wild outfits make for extreme fun.

Amid the chants from the crowd for "Rockin' in the USSR", the Red Elvises played an up tempo set that had many in the crowd dancing around like 13-year old girls at a Hannah Montana concert high on Mountain Dew.
But, there was plenty to enjoy if you were just sitting off to the sides of the dance area and taking in the spectacle that is a Red Elvis concert. Classic Rock 'n Roll was the standard set by the Red Elvises and plenty of rhythm to keep those who wanted to dance on their feet.
The fireplace was one great hangout on this chilly evening. But, the temperature in the Mecca Lounge was definitively HOT! We spoke to one diehard Red Elvis fan; Ron Gillette who said he had caught RE in Austin, Tx and Las Vegas as well as once before at the Mecca Lounge. Gillette considers himself a comrade for sure, as he sported a bright red RE shirt.
