The Rocky Mountains send cold down to Durango, Mx.
Photo: Brax - VPC |
Sub-freezing temperatures came to the valley earlier this year than usual. Even before the end of October the valley was experiencing frigid temperatures during the early morning hours.
Even as the temperatures were hovering in the 60's and 70's the morning chill was down near 20 degrees on two occasions in late October.
That sent the message that this winter would be colder. Then in early Novemeber, a new blast of cold air came down the Rockies and chilled the high plateau that is the Chihuahauan Desert all the way down to Durango State in Mexico.
