Beto O'Rourke Wins Big: District # 8.

O'Rourke won the endorsement of the Upper Valley Beacon for being such a dynamic and capable candidate. Beto won the election by a huge margin of 675 votes when less that a total of 5,000 were cast. Change was called for and the call was answered.

Lilly Reaches 1st Goal: Runoff for District # 1.

Ann Morgan Lilly, the feisty candidate from the old Rim/Kern Place areas has forced the incumbent, Susan Austin, to a runoff election. The Upper Valley Beacon rated Lilly high amougst the four candidates. She supports balanced development and quality of life planning. Austin's financial backers... some developers... don't agree... try to buy election.

Ric Schecter Endorses Lilly

Shaking off the disappointing loss in the election, Schecter is ready to keep volunteering to make the Westside/Upper Valley a better place and the City of El Paso a more efficient running machine. "I want to thank everyone who supported me. I believe I made a good case during the forums and debates. I, now, heartily throw my support behind Ann Lilly".

May 22, 2005  Polo With a Purpose:

A polo match to benefit El Paso’s Metro Market, American Cancer Society. The high-grade polo match will feature TOMMY LEE JONES with his Polo team, San Saba. The festivities will include a catered meal served buffet style and cold drinks throughout the event. 

Gates open at 1:00 p.m. Chapel open from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Throw-in for the polo match game at 4:00 p.m.
