O O n the "Dia de los reyes", the children open presents and parents make dinner, eat las roscas and drink coffee or hot chocolate. Semi-sweet is preferable so that the hot chocolate or coffee which is usually loaded with sugar in Latin America gives constrast to the semi-sweet rosca which is the perfect compliment to the super-sweet drink.

Hidden inside the special designated loaf of "roscas" bread is a figurine of the baby Jesus.

According to tradition, which varies among Latino groups, the person who finds the figurine must throw a party on February 2, when the Mexico's holiday season officially ends.
