Foster Stevens Basketball Complex Opens to Give Program a Boost.

T he Foster Stevens Basketball Complex was opened for a sneak preview on April 22, 2009 with Paul Foster, Jeff Stevens, Tony Barbee and UTEP women’s basketball coach Keitha Adams all present for the event.

The complex on the edge of the UTEP campus provides a myriad of upgrades and new functions for both Barbee and Adams. The center is over 43,000-square feet with a $14.3 million price tag.

Obviously, the hopes are that it will serve two main functions. One, to boost the development and morale of both the men's and women's team. Secondly, it will be one more jewel in the UTEP crown that will surely impress new recruits. Barbee indicated that the center is very impressive and will make a difference in obtaining and keeping top recruits.

The center has two basketball courts, training room, a weight room, meeting rooms and locker rooms. Plus, although the teams may have to practice in the old Memorial gym when the "Don" is the site for a concert or event; the teams will have more continuity than before as well as flexibility.
