O of the oldest bars in town... owned by the same family for almost 50-years is the King's X Bar. It stands alone as a true bar and not just a strip mall clone... just north of the UTEP area at the far end of Kern Place and Mission Hills. It is there that many businessmen and businesswomen, politicians, professors and students have all come to enjoy the great atmosphere of a truly authentic bar. It is also a bar where everyone can feel comfortable and welcomed. There are no turf wars or style police at the King's X.

As we have mentioned in a recent article Blues on the Westside. and it all happens at the King's X Bar. The King's X has a monthly blues jam with guests musicians from Jimmy "Austin" Murphy, Geronimo Black and the members from the Kat Crosby Blues Band to set the pace and let the up and coming guitarist, bassist and drummers have a go at it.
The Blues is H-O-T to the touch at the King's X Bar.

The King's X has also hosted numerous music festivals and some very unique concerts. One of notable distinction and greatness was when Sonny Black came in from Germany where he has played for years... remember Sonny Black was one of the members of Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention rock band... one of the most incredible and creative bands of the '70's. At the special concert at the King's X; Sonny played with his two sons Geronimo and Darrell.

And don't forget that the King's X is a super place to watch your favorite sports team or game. There are plenty of TV's and Big Screens as well. You can't get a better atmosphere for watching sports than at the King's X. The crowd is always into sports so you can make noise or just watch... the beers cost the same.
