UTEP Celebrates Homecoming: Parade & Pep Rally.

W ith a theme of "Around the World", UTEP students, faculty, staff and alumni will all join together to celebrate their academic common denoinator... UTEP. And around the world really illustrates the wide span of students and faculty that have been a part of the UTEP experience.

The Homecoming festivities will culminate when the Miners will square off against Rice University for its homecoming game. But, there are many events, dinners/lunches and gathering that will begin on the 5th with a Homecoming Lip Synch contest at the UTEP Union after a morning tailgate party.

There will be a parade float making party on the Thursday the 7th a P-9 near Kidd Field from 6:00 PM to Midnight. Also, the Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally will be on the 8th at 12:00 noon. The parade will begin at P-9 and end up going down University Ave. ending at the Centennial Museum.

A Pep Rally will follow with students, cheerleaders and the football team all in attendance as the President of UTEP, Dr. Diane Natalicio, will offer a motivational speech and present the Outstanding Allumi Award.

The football game will be on the 9th at the Sun Bowl as the Miners face off against the Rice Owls. Kick-off is at 7:05 P.M.
